Safeguarding in Royal Greenwich

Welcome to the Royal Greenwich Safeguarding Adults Board website. Here you will find information about how the board oversees and seeks assurances about the activities in the borough that protect and reduce the risk of abuse and neglect for its adult residents. You can also find information on how to spot and report abuse and information of organisations that provide services, advice and support for Greenwich residents.

Safeguarding in Royal Greenwich is about working together to prevent and stop the risks and experience of abuse or neglect. We make sure that the adult’s wellbeing is promoted and give regard to their views, wishes, feelings and beliefs in deciding on any action. This is delivered through the Protocol for Safeguarding Adults Partnership July 2015 which sets out the framework for the delivery of safeguarding activities in Royal Greenwich. This protocol was developed in accordance with the following six key principles that underpin all adult safeguarding work as laid out in the Care and Support Statutory Guidance, March 2016   and the London Multi-Agency Adult Safeguarding Policy & Procedures, August 2016.  The principles inform the ways in which professionals and other staff in Royal Greenwich work with adults. The principles also help the Safeguarding Adults Board and organisations more widely, by using them to examine and improve their local arrangements.
